The inspiration came after looking at the reference library of superhero images I keep on file.  The library consists of images I've been collecting for YEARS, if I had to guess, I would say it began when I got my first Apple computer in 2004 since then every backup and new device I get, I always ensure that my reference material gets updated.

My love for SuperHeroes has always been a part of my existence for as long as I can remember. I was a shy gay kid who never really fit in with anyone in my surroundings. The '70s were not kind to gay people and my creative little self, tired of being scared and alone found solace in the adventures of brave heroes.

Growing up I was always drawing, it saved me, especially Wonder Woman. My little head literally exploded the first time I saw Lynda Carter on TV and Wonder Woman was REAL, and she became my guardian angel. No matter what I faced growing up, from that moment on I had access to Wonder Woman's strength and courage.
It wasn't enough to just see them on tv or books, drawing brought those characters to life and my drawing skills grew as I discovered new worlds of superheroes, but I always return to Wonder Woman.
I get asked sometimes about my love for the character and It's afforded me an ability to understand why WW transcends sexuality or gender for me. The character represents, Strength, Courage and Love. That being an outsider not only from where you are from but also in society, doesn't break you, it makes you STRONGER. She is a passionate warrior who fights because she NEEDS to, not because she WANTS to.
As strong as the TOP TIER male, but never treated as such and has no desire for that kind of attention, It's enough to know that she is just as strong to not only defend against whatever comes her way but can always take down the top dog and WILL help him back up. That's what makes her amazing. That maternal instinct to put others first, but get the F*** out of my way. My own personality not only syncs up to that kind of energy but also contributes to that dynamic when collaborating with a powerful female force, be it personally or professionally.

At the heart of it all, SUPERHEROES are about having FUN! I don't sexualize them or treat them as PinUp fantasizes, they are colourful representations of the best parts of humanity like honesty, fairness, respect & teamwork.
